Youth Ministries

St. Thomas More offers many opportunities for our youth to develop and grow personal relationships with Jesus Christ. Our Religious Education program for youth in grades 7-10 is taught on Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 7:15 pm, following the Youth Mass at 5:00 pm.

In addition to classroom instruction, several Activity Events are held throughout the year.  A Halloween Boo Bash is sponsored by the youth for local children.  It begins with a Mass that children are encouraged to attend in costume, then continues in the Education Building with a "Haunted House" for older children, and numerous fun games and activities for the younger children.

"Fun Nights" are planned throughout the year, including the summertime, in the R.O.C.K. Youth House and on the church grounds for our youth.  They enjoy volleyball and touch football, pool, table tennis, air hockey and video games. Once they've worked up an appetite, the youth can enjoy pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs, ice cream and other treats.

Each Spring, our youth attend the Abbey Youth Fest in Covington, Louisiana.  This is a one-day event for youth from across the state, with contemporary Christian music, vibrant guest speakers and a Mass.

Whether they are  learning about our Catholic faith in Religious Education classes, volunteering at one of our parish fundraising events, or enjoying a retreat, our youth are an integral part of our parish.

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Prov. 22:6)
